We are pleased to announce that the Interactive OKO Story and Animation Center in Bielsko-Biała, designed by Nizio Design International, has been honored in the “Cultural Building” category of the 2025 SARP (Association of Polish Architects) Award of the Year.
OKO is a contemporary educational and exhibition space created for both children and adults. It also serves as a tribute to the legendary Studio of Animated Films. In this project, architecture becomes a storytelling tool, blending the world of fairy tales with technology and the tradition of Polish animation, resulting in a space that is not only visually engaging, but also deeply rooted in the local history of film culture.
The project was designed by Mirosław Nizio, with Bartłomiej Terlikowski serving as lead architect. The jury recognized the building’s functionality, its distinctive architectural language and the clear emotional narrative embedded in the space.
