HANDING OVER THE DESIGN OF THE BLESSED FATHER JERZY POPIEŁUSZKO MUSEUM IN OKOPY TO THE PODLASIE MUSEUM

A museum commemorating its famous resident, Blessed Father Jerzy Popiełuszko, will be established in Okopy, a small village in northern Podlasie. It will be a space for prayer, building a community, meetings of the local community, and a destination for pilgrims. The combination of architectural tradition and modernity will be achieved by referring to the beauty and simplicity of wayside shrines, country houses and local churches of Podlasie and Eastern Mazowsze. At the heart of the establishment there will be a Place of Recollection in the form of a chapel, covered by a gable roof and towering over the entire structure blended into the tectonics of the area. The building merges with the picturesque landscape of the village, the nearby meadow and forest.
Last Friday, Mirosław Nizio presented the design of the Museum of the Blessed Father Jerzy Popiełuszko in Okopy during a press conference at the Białystok Museum. The design was developed by Nizio Design International commissioned by “Dobro” Foundation.
