Project of revitalization and restoration of Rother Mills in Bydgoszcz

A revitalization concept for the development of land and interiors was drawn up in 2014. The subject of the revitalization project was the historic complex on Mill Island (Wyspa Młyńska) in Bydgoszcz; the design assumed the transformation of former manufacturing areas into spaces of knowledge. Thus, the facility was to combine several functions: educational, cultural and commercial.

The concept envisioned the creation of exhibition spaces, a retail area, a special reading room, theatre rooms, as well as  Mill Museum (Muzeum Młynów) with a permanent exhibition – all of these on the Rother Mills site. A unique Cultural Centre “Four Elements and the Man” (Cztery żywioły i człowiek) was to be the main attraction of the entire complex.
